Narendra Sharma
Narendra Sharma was Born and raised in the birder’s paradise of Bharatpur, close to Keoladeo National Park, Narendra developed a keen interest in the wildlife of the area. This interest and his knowledge has enabled him to lead both tiger safaris and birding tours across India for 18 years.
In between, Narendra gained a diploma in Nature and Wildlife Interpretation from the Forest Department of Rajasthan, which has developed further his knowledge about the wilderness, along with the history and culture of his home country.
Not only this, narendra also develops a deeper understanding of the needs of his clients whilst revealing his knowledge of the beautiful flora and fauna of the places visited.
Many successful tours have been organised by him to some of the most beautiful places in India. With his expertise in this field, people have been fortunate to view astounding creatures such as tigers, leopards, dhole, rhinos and elephants at very close proximity in their natural habitats.

We have been fortunate to be on two trips with Narendra, both times with just one other couple.The first trip was a safari and cultural tour with visits to places such as Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Mumbai.The second trip was safari only, although we also again visited Old Delhi and Agra.Walking through Old Delhi with Narendra as a guide is a treat. Narendra takes exceptional care of his guests. He makes all the arrangements for lodging, transportation, local guides, and meals. He will design a tour in response to the requests of his guests. Knowing that Indian food and spices may be a mite different than most Americans are used to, he even coordinates with the chefs to makes sure guests’ favorite Indian dishes are available and prepared to the level of spices each guest can tolerate. Near the parks, he knows the best camps for comfort and food. We enjoyed every camp we visited. The lodgings in the city are high quality. His wide experience, skill in coordination and professionalism makes him a guide you can trust without hesitation. He is also very personable and enjoyable. For us the highlight of tours with Narendra is viewing the animals. He has thorough knowledge of the national parks, the animals and birds. He ensures guests get inside early to have the best chances to see tigers, leopards, bears, etc. He has a feel for where the animals may be spending time. This year we had some really great tiger sightings. We had one sighting when only our vehicle was present. The tiger lay in front of us, cleaning her face. Another tiger walked past us no more than six feet away; it was thrilling. On another occasion Narendra got us into the park first and again all alone we saw a mother and two year-old cubs. We saw them appear out of the jungle and then walk toward us, stopping to drink out of a mud puddle right in front of us. It takes one’s breath away. We saw a total of 14 tigers! In addition, Narendra is a superb photographer himself and is alert to the best locations and light. We are hoping to be able to go back once more and see some of southern India with the best guide in India.
